I'm sorry but I only see one feature this drive has that the Hitachi WJ700's do not have, and that is the ability to run on 115vac at 3kw output.

I would recommend reading some of this guys threads on cnczone. While it seems he is trying to help expand the DIY CNC market I think he is not in touch with what customers have come to expect from a business these days.

I also hate to say it,  but if anyone can't be super happy with automation directs g2 series vfd which can do single phase up to 3 hp I would be confused.  Also. Seamans makes a 5 hp model which is good to 5hp single phase.   I also happen to have one of those to and has been great

I do suggest though with the automation direct go with the one that has the dial speed adjust rather then the other model that has the digital buttons.

I don’t see any there that do 120VAC in at 3KW out which is the appeal of this project to me

I don’t have 220VAC in my shop and the cost to run it has made using a VFD that does 220VAC input , out of the question.   Is there another VFD out there that does that.  I’ve been looking for one.  otherwise something like this would fit my circumstances.

Ya that had to be rough with just 120.

Still the amps you would need at 120 would be pretty high probably to much to run through your existing drop so still i would say running another circuit would be required.

That would be around 26 amps at 115 VAC just for the motor.

Sorta exactly what I wanted to point out except didn't have time to calculate while on my bike.  Assuming there is some distance for this line to your shop that is going to be quite a load.  Perhaps pretty dangerous if not simply very expensive power.
